Texas Water Development Board approves a $445,000 loan to the City of San Juan to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (April 19, 2012) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $445,000 to the City of San Juan (Hidalgo County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance planning and design costs for wastewater system improvements.
The City of San Juan intends to use the funds for planning and design to rehabilitate and/or replace existing lift stations due to structural, electrical, operational, and capacity issues.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
