Identification of Potential Brackish Groundwater Production Areas – Nacatoch Aquifer

Project Summary:

The Nacatoch study involves the collection and mapping of existing water quality information and identification of candidate well logs to supplement water quality and stratigraphy delineation within the aquifer. Selected well log digital images will be acquired and entered into the BRACS database, and the logs will be analyzed to estimate water quality and hydraulic properties. The resulting combined dataset will be used to(1) delineate fresh, brackish, and saline groundwater, (2) calculate these volumes, (3) identify Potential Production Areas, and (4) create a model of the Potential Production Areas over 30-and-50 year periods without having significant impact on the Nacatoch Aquifer.
